Our Mission and Services
Wildlife in Need Emergency Response of PA (WIN) is a volunteer, non-profit, statewide network for capturing and delivering injured and orphaned wildlife within the state of Pennsylvania.
Wildlife in Need:
- Advises concerned citizens on wildlife situations they encounter.
- Responds to wildlife needing to be captured.
- Councils the caller about safely transporting an animal to the appropriate veterinarian or wildlife rehabilitation center for medical treatment and continued care.

How WIN Helps
WIN serves as a first point of contact for people who find injured, orphaned, or sick wildlife. By answering questions, gathering information, and helping determine the appropriate next step, WIN reduces the number of calls going directly to wildlife rehabilitation centers, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, DCNR, veterinarians, and other agencies.
This is especially important during the busy spring and summer months, when wildlife rehabilitation centers can receive an overwhelming number of calls while also caring for large numbers of animals. By handling those initial calls, WIN allows rehabilitators and agency staff to spend more of their time where it is needed most—helping wildlife.
How You Can Help
WIN is powered entirely by dedicated volunteers who give their time to help Pennsylvania’s wildlife. By answering calls, providing guidance, and connecting people with the appropriate resources, our volunteers make this service possible.
You can help us continue this work by volunteering with WIN or by making a donation. Your support helps ensure that people who find wildlife in need have somewhere to turn—and that injured and orphaned animals have a better chance of getting the help they need.
